Our teachers assistant Molly Luterbach, has a bachelors degree in education, went to a Montessori school as a child and her mother has been a Montessori teacher for over 25 years.

She was a substitute teacher at Montessori School of Waukesha and has been teaching at our school for almost three years.

She will be going to school this summer (2010) to get her Montessori teachers certificate.

"Molly has proven to be mature and wise beyond her years and is an outstanding asset to the current Montessori program.  He kind, gentle and respectful mannerisms are well received by both the children and parents.  I especially appreciate her approach to teaching in that she easily recognizes each child's personal strengths and works to en chance their skills individually.
She treats the students with respect and creates an environment where they are free to express themselves and learn in many different ways

Our toddler teacher Miss Lyndsey, had this to say about Montessori:   "The Montessori Method is a method of educating young children that stresses development of a child's own initiative and natural abilities. Montessori completely describes my personal education philosophy. I truly believe in the Montessori Theory and everything that Maria Montessori discovered while working with children.

There are many things that draw me to the Montessori Method of teaching. One of them is that everything in a Montessori classroom is self correcting which allows the child to always feel like he/she is successful in their work. This really boosts the child confidence and makes them truly believe that they CAN do it themselves.

You will rarely see a Montessori student learning from a work book. Everything is hands on. The children are learning from experience and research which motivates them to feel like they have a real purpose.

Maria Montessori’s philosophy of the classroom being “The Children’s House” makes for a great learning environment because the classrooms are not just run by the teachers but by the students as well. A Montessori classroom is a very independent place that shows so much respect towards the children and in turn teaches them to be kind and peaceful.

As teachers we are held to such high expectations and it gives me so much satisfaction to teach a child something new to help them achieve greater things."
